Phoenix Trip

Mom and I flew to Phoenix on Thursday night. Darryl and Melissa picked us up from the airport and we stayed at the "Palace." ;-) Darryl and Melissa went all out to make us feel welcome. We golfed at the Air Force base and at the Phoenician. Both courses were great and the food in Phoenix was also great. We are alligator and crab cakes. Yum!

One evening all of us went for a massage. It was a first for me and I was not sure of what I was getting into. But Melissa said that we would enjoy it. Well, after we finished I know all about Lucy and her family. Both mom and I were very relaxed, and it......... didn't........ (yawn)........ take................. to............................ long................................... to..................................... fall....................................... asleep..................................................(Snore).

Still alive!!!

I promise we are not dead. Sorry about the lack of communication on our part lately (always). Rick is currently training in California (Mohave desert, it's no vacation) for a month...of course neither of us are very thrilled about that since the Army assured us his company wasn't going but they so wonderfully changed their minds a week before.

I finally left the knife store due to some disagreements with business practices on the owner's part... like not getting out paychecks on time, shorting us hours because 'he didn't feel we really needed those hours'.
The new job is really nice, working in a bookstore in the historical part of town with a nice pay raise and an hour lunch. Joy.
We added a couple new members to our family (besides the cats, Phoebe and Sam) and we now have a pair of gerbils named Mariwhen and Gwen. It was Rik's idea to buy them... I think he wanted another Caligula. Of course there is no replacing that crazy animal but they are rather nice, as far as gerbils go.
I started riding horses again ...which I have to get to my lesson a lot sooner than I thought so I better go. Hope everyone is well.

Palm Springs

Come on people. We have the Blog to post events and pictures. =) Where are yours?
Here are pictures of our Palm Springs trip this weekend. Darryl and his friends golfed 36 holes a day while my friend and I layed by the pool. It was fabulous.

We met Dennis Rodman--a freak in person also---and we met Tracy Bingham. She was on Baywatch and now on the Surreal life. She was a nice person...a few frys short of a happy meal though. =)
